Team BackTrack Team announced the release of BackTrack 4 R1, the next release of Linux-distribution, providing professionals in the field of IT-security an extensive arsenal of tools for testing computer systems for vulnerabilities. The distribution was the result of combining teams of developers projects IWHAX, Auditor Security Collection and Whoppix and is one of the best tools in their field.
BackTrack 4 contains one of the richest collections of programs related to security: from tools for testing web-applications and penetration of wireless networks, to programs to read data from RFID identity chips. The kit includes a collection of BackTrack exploits and more than 300 specialized tools for security checks, such as Aircrack, Maltego, Metasploit, SAINT, Kismet, Bluebugger, Btcrack, Btscanner, Nmap, p0f.
In addition, the distribution includes tools for acceleration guessing passwords (Multihash CUDA Brute Forcer) and WPA keys (Pyrit) through leveraging technology CUDA and ATI Stream, make use of the GPU NVidia and ATI graphics cards to perform computing operations.
Compared with the previous version of the updated version of the supplied software, the transition to Linux-kernel 6.2.1934, that make it possible to release significant enhancements, including enhanced support for hardware and improved response to the desktop to the user. Expanded hardware support, improved graphics distribution, in addition to KDE added a full desktop environment based on Fluxbox, provided seamless interaction with virtual environments VMWare.
